Cherie K. MacQueen | Interior Designer, Radio and TV Broadcaster
Ms. Cherie MacQueen has worn several different hats throughout her career. Most recently, she worked in interior design, serving as the owner of both Ladysmythe Handcrafts and the Keilani Company from 2003-2007. In high school, she had a passion for art, crafts, and drafting, but prior to working in interior design her career took her in a very different direction.
From 1973 to 1980, she was with the U.S. Army, serving first as a personnel specialist, then as an administrative specialist, and finally as a broadcast journalist. During her distinguished service in the Army, she was awarded the Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and two Good Conduct Medals.
She continued to work with the military after this period, spending the next 20 years with Armed Forces Radio and TV in various capacities. Her positions there included radio traffic specialist, broadcast support manager, and internal information manager. In 1999, she shifted her focus from broadcasting and began to focus on interior design, attaining a certification for it in 2002.
